Kris Johnson

Kris (Manske) Johnson was an All-American women’s basketball player, leading the ‘Cats to their first appearance in the NCAA Division II Final Four in 1998. 

She was a four-year starter on the basketball team from 1995-98. Johnson is the all-time NMU leader in steals with 391, recording 192 more than second place, ranking her 11th in DII history

She is second all-time in career assists (680), ranking her 15th in the NCAA. Johnson also finished fifth at NMU in scoring (1,503) and sixth in rebounding (676).

Johnson graduated from NMU in 1998 with a bachelor of science in biochemistry. She spent nine years as an assistant coach at University of Wisconsin-Green Bay.

I was born and raised in Green Bay. I played AAU basketball for 7 years with Green Bay Metro Hoops. I was a 4 year varsity player at Green Bay Preble and went on to play D2 basketball at Roosevelt University in Chicago, Illinois. After that, I started coaching AAU and was with Green Bay Metro Hoops for 6-7 years.

I was the JV2 Head Coach at Wauwatosa West 2023-2024 season and 2024-current I am an Assistant Varsity Coach at Ashwaubenon High School.

Meghan Van Iten

I have always had a deep passion for basketball, which naturally grew into a love for coaching the game. My early coaching experience began as a varsity assistant, where I gained valuable insight into team dynamics, game strategy, and player development at a competitive level. Alongside that role, I also worked closely with 5th and 6th grade athletes in my former AAU program, helping young players build fundamental skills and develop a strong understanding of the game.

More recently, I have continued coaching through children’s high school youth programs. I focus on fostering skill development, a love for the game and helping athletes grow not only as basketball players but also as teammates and individuals. Coaching brings me tremendous joy and I am committed to creating meaningful experiences for every playe I work with.
